Forgive my Ramblings

Hello again internet, and any potential friends out there and welcome to the blog that will hopefully keep me motivated to continue on with a novel idea I was struck by a few days ago.  The idea hit me right as I was falling asleep and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since.  In the days following I found myself writing pages upon pages of notes and ideas for the story.  Needless to say, this has definitely sparked my interest.

That being said I cannot help but feel some apprehension going down this road, because I am not a writer.  I wrote a great deal when I was very young, but those days have long since passed.  My life actually took a very different path, and this June I graduated with a B.Sc in Biology.  So as you may imagine, my creative writing skills have been severely neglected over the years.

So fingers crossed that I can make it to the point where I have a readable draft with minimal hair pulling.  Also, I would love it if someone would actually be interested in reading my novel, but I won’t hold my breath.  This is more a challenge for myself than anything.

Let the games begin!

  1. I don’t think anyone should worry about “being a writer”. Just worry about the actual act of writing. And I wouldn’t worry–all writing sucks at first. You just have to hyper-inflate your ego and power through the doubt! Something I’m working on right now 🙂

  2. Thanks for stopping by my blog. It’s always scary to start a new project and it doesn’t get much less scary even once you’ve been writing. But you keep doing it. Good luck to you!
